Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation
When: Saturday, July 9, 2011
What time: 8:45 am to 3:00 pm
Where: LHAC, Gerace Service Center
Who: At least one adult leader per Pack
Why: So your Pack can go camping
What: The short course!
How do you make sure we put the OUT in Scouting? Take your Pack on a campout. Show the Cubs the excitement of sleeping in a tent, cooking their own meals, learning about plants and trees, following animal tracks, playing games in the fresh air. In order to do this you must have at least one trained leader, someone in your Pack who has taken BALOO training.
You will learn how to cook your lunch in a trench, what tents are available for Cubs, how to plan a camping event, what pitfalls to watch for, how to keep your Cubs safe and involved. The course is one day, from 8:45 to 3:00 filled with more information than you can absorb. Your lunch, information, fun, games, camping hints, program, planning, campfire structure, are all included with many helpful handouts in the small fee.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to enhance your Pack Outdoor Program!
