WOOD BADGE is Scouting’s advanced training course for all Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing Leaders, as well as for District and Council volunteers and Professional Scouters. The only prerequisites for attending Wood Badge are that you be a registered Scouter, trained for your Scouting position, and have completed a BSA Part A, B, & C health form within 12 months of the course date.
WOOD BADGE, during six full days of training, demonstrates as practically as possible the aims and methods of Scouting. As such, Wood Badge is recommended for Scouters early in their Scouting careers.
WOOD BADGE is a multi-faceted presentation of leadership skills, organizational tools, and participatory activities. The course is based on the best of Scouting traditions and the latest in team-development theory. Participants enjoy the fellowship of learning alongside many other Scouter. Along the way, we also have a great deal of fun.
Successful completion of WOOD BADGE requires participation in 2 (TWO) weekends:
- August 24-26, 2012
- September 14-16, 2012
