Scouting’s Mission

The purpose of Boy Scouts of America is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults (male and female) to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.  Scouting’s core programs start at age 7 or 1st grade- 5th grade when boys can join Cub Scouts.   Boys 11-18 can join Boy Scouts.  Boys and Girls ages 14 (or 13 and graduated 8th graders) can join our Venturing and Exploring programs

Employees or contractors who become members of the Volunteer Team for Boy Scouts would assist the Lake Huron Area Council with various events, programs,  camps, and service projects throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Team Members would also have the opportunity to get involved with Boy Scouts in other ways as well including serving as a mentor, a committee member, or even as a scout leader!

Some upcoming volunteer opportunities include:

July 30- August 6- Summer Camp Mentor/worker.  Sample tasks include:  mentoring youth, assisting with programs, activities, and food service.  Location:  Clare, MI and Rose City MI.  (9 AM- 9 PM)

September 24- Popcorn Fun Day Worker.  Assist with programs and activities.  Location- Auburn office.  9 AM- 1 PM

October 5,6, 7- Popcorn Warehouse Worker.  Assist in staging popcorn sale orders.  Location- Corrigan’s Warehouse on Mackinaw Rd. & US-10, Bay City.  9 AM- 4 PM

We have many other potential volunteer opportunities we can share with you.
