Boy Scout Summer Camp Registration 2012
The Lake Huron Area Council is excited to announce online registration for the 2012 Camp Season!
Starting September 19, 2011, you may log on to the Lake Huron Area Council web site and register your unit for a week of summer camp in 2012 all from the convenience of your nearest computer.
The Registration Process
The registration process has four steps, each completed over the time period preceding the summer camping season.
Step 1 - Register Your Unit
As soon as you are ready (beginning on September 19, 2011), a representative from your unit should make an online registration through the LHAC web site to register your unit. From the LHAC Home Page, click on the “Council Calendar” link and navigate your way to June/July 2012 and then click on the week of camp you wish to attend. Next, simply click on the orange “Register Online” button and follow the instructions. At the time of registration you will be asked for your contact information, an estimate of the number of campers that may attend, your campsite preference, and to provide your $100 camp deposit (payable by credit card or electronic check). If you signed up for Summer Camp 2012 prior to September 19, this step will be completed for you. Please note that the unit registration total is $350, with a minimum deposit of $100 being due at the time of registration and the balance due by January 6, 2012 (see Step 2). You will be given the option to pay the entire $350 upon initial registration if you so choose. This will get your unit signed up for the 2012 Camp Season!
Once your unit has registered, your unit’s representative will receive e-mail communications about the registration process and other camp news. In-council units can access their Summer Camp 2012 registration by clicking on the “Registrations” link found on your Unit’s Home Page. Out-of-Council units will receive a link that can be bookmarked for future returns to continue the Summer Camp 2012 registration process.
Step 2 - First Summer Camp Payment Due
Using the “Registrations” link found on your Unit’s Home Page (or bookmarked link for out-of council units), your 1st Summer Camp payment of $250 (or remaining balance if you paid more than $100 at the time of registration) is due on or before January 6, 2012. Choose “Make a Payment Against This Order.” This payment will be applied toward your total camp fees and is non-refundable. Your timely attention to payment deadlines will help you avoid late fees! Step 3 - Register Your Participants
On February 1, 2012, participant registration will be enabled, allowing you to register your individual scout and adult campers. The $135 minimum per Scout camper fee will be payable at the time of participant registration. Registering your youth & adults at this time will guarantee them a reservation for Summer Camp 2012. Summer Camp reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis; failure to register early may result in your week filling up and being closed to new reservations. You may pay online against the balance any time throughout the spring months with full payment being due on May 11, 2012. Payments made after May 11, 2012 will be charged the late fee with the exception of Webelos Crossovers & new Boy Scouts. For detailed online participant registration instructions, click here.
Step 4 - Sign up for Merit Badges and Other Activities
On March 1, 2012 the council will enable online signups for merit badge classes and other activities. You must have your participants registered first before they can sign up for classes and activities. Nearly all merit badge classes have an attendance limit, so registering your boys in a timely manner is advised to help make sure your boys get the merit badges they want.
